Yoga means ‘to yoke’ or ‘to form union with’. It is through the ancient and sacred practices of breath, mantra and movement, we become more aligned with our higher self and all of creation. This is essence of self-care and in committing to these practices we help not only ourselves but all we come into contact with.
The class begins with mantra (sacred chanting), accompanied by harmonium, followed by guided pranayama (breath control), and then flows into an asana series (movement poses). We use these techniques to help center the mind, calm the emotions and bring our bodies into a state of balanced awareness.
A regular yoga practice can bring more strength and flexibility to the body and provide the joints with increased range of motion. Using circular flow and synchronizing the breath with movement activates the parasympathetic state encouraging the body to be nourished and triggers the body’s own natural healing state. When we are strong and flexible in our bodies we are strong and flexible in our life and are able to move through the inevitable challenges life brings with more grace and ease.

Natural Movement is a practice that engages the most fundamental, evolutionary movements of human beings.
These are the human movement patterns that our species developed and mastered in our vast and diverse earth environment long before (like, millions of years before) working in fields and factories, playing golf, or practicing the asanas of yoga. These movements are still very much a part of us, we just need a little bit of reminding, guidance, and sometimes just permission to carry them out in our lives.
Yes! This means you get to crawl, climb, lift and carry, throw and catch, balance, jump, and roll. This is also a specific time to train and improve more obvious everyday movements like getting up and down off the ground, walking and running, carrying children (or adults, or firewood!), sleep postures, or how to sit on the ground in dozens of different ways. Who is this for? This class is for anybody with a body and can be scaled to work with any injury, limitation, body-type, skill-set, or movement background.

Focus on being present and compassionate with what is. Formal sitting practice and/or creative practices designed for the unique person, group or circumstance.
Dance: The creative expression of the inner being, fully embodied and celebrated. Various forms include: Somatic Movement Play, Ecstactic Dance, African Inspired, Essence of Presence Improvisation, Dance Improv Lab, and Contact Improvisation
Wisdom Within Private Sessions: Access Your Inner Resources
Every session begins with a personalized interview to clarify and ground preferences, resources and intentions. In this time we also ground what is needed for a safe container and clear boundaries. I will answer any questions you have about the wisdom and training behind each modality. Depending on You- I will then draw from a wondrous menu of: Relaxation , Reiki, Hypnotherapy, Sensory Awareness, Intuitive Touch, Shamanic Journey, Oracle cards, and Divine Love. In stillness and/or movement. Optional enhancements include earth elements of water, sound, stones, simple aromatherapy, and/or audio recording. Each session uniquely emerges for the person and moment. Afterwards you will have as much time as you choose to be in silent absorption and integration. When appropriate, we will discuss any practices and/or affirmations to take with with you, as well as followup support or sessions or support. Phone sessions and personalized, recorded guided meditations also available. When possible I like to give you the interview questions in advance, so you have time to reflect and prepare in your own way. I also like to check in with you within 48 hours after your session, if possible.
I have a Master’s of Arts (Prescott College, AZ) in Dance and Transformation and am certified in Yoga, Hypnotherapy, Reiki, and as a Universal Life minister, with forty years of experience as an avid practitioner, educator and therapist.
